Write the Room Kindergarten

Write the Room in Kindergarten

Write the room ✏️ is one of my students favorite activities! It gets them out of their seat moving around and they feel like it’s a scavenger hunt. As a teacher, I love it because they are practicing writing and having fun at the same time.
I’ve used write the room during centers, as a whole group activity and as an “I’m done now what?” activity.

How Write the Room Works?

  1. Print out the picture cards and place them around the room.
  2. Print out the recording sheets for the students.
  3. Get those clipboards ready!
  4. Students get to walk around the room, find the words and write down how to spell the word.

Why is Write the Room Beneficial?

✏️ Students can practice their handwriting.

✏️ Students can walk around the stimulate their brain while moving.

✏️ Students learn vocabulary.

✏️ Fine motor skills are increasing as they are writing standing up and balancing their clipboards.
